Anindita (Andy) Anaam took her role with the city of Appleton just over a year ago, “allowing me to engage with and uplift our community in meaningful ways,” says Anaam, who formerly worked in communications with the Oconto Unified School District.
Anaam holds a master’s in political science and communications and is a six-time Wisconsin School Public Relations Association (WSPRA) Spectrum Award recipient.
Through her role with the city, she co-hosts the Appleton Engaged Podcast, which won the Wisconsin Policy Forum’s Salute to Local Government award for its strides in advancing racial equity within the region.
Originally from Delhi, India, Anaam says attainment of the EB1A Visa — the “Einstein Visa” — was pivotal in her professional and artistic endeavors: “It stands as a testament to perseverance and dedication, fueling my passion for both creativity and service.”
Anaam is an internationally acclaimed Indian Kathak classical dance artist and educator who has performed worldwide in major dance festivals. She serves as executive director for the National Dance Educational Organization.
