Assistant Vice President II – Treasury Management / Age 34
First Business Bank
Bryson Machonga’s proudest professional moment was leaving his comfort zone and “taking a job as a banker seven-plus years ago,” he says. “I am proud to have a wife and daughters who were willing to move from our home in Madison to Appleton, where we had no family, friends or history.”
During Machonga’s five years in Appleton, First Business Bank’s northeast region has grown to record levels on the commercial banking and deposit side of the business.
Machonga supports his local church and organizations like Operation Underground Railroad, Compassion International, World Vision, YMCA of the Fox Cities, United Way and Damascus Road.
A graduate of Michigan’s Madonna University with a degree in business administration and sports management, one of Machonga’s first jobs was as a soccer referee. His first post-college job was at the Princeton Club, a fitness and athletics facility in Madison. “(Owner) Dave Gerry was willing to give me a chance managing a club with no experience,” Machonga says. “That job allowed me to move back to the great state of Wisconsin, which has always felt like home.”
