Executive Director / Age 39
Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund
Jolene Schatzinger’s experience covers a lot of ground: Her first job was announcing wrestling matches at Brillion High School, and later she interned for Sen. Herb Kohl. She was a high school counselor, worked in donor relations at Ripon College and was director of outreach for Broken Bread Food Pantry.
She also serves on the Ripon City Council, where she introduced an ordinance to allow urban chickens. While in high school FFA, Schatzinger was the state’s number one poultry judge. “I have a trophy featuring a golden chicken to prove it,” she says.
Schatzinger’s diverse work experience “has only led her to be more prepared to bring real change to the county in her role with the Women’s Fund,” says nominator Mandy Kimes.
In her role for less than a year, Schatzinger says she has already helped another nonprofit to “secure funding to revive and re-envision a program,” which paved the way for the Women’s Fund “to be an even stronger partner with entities throughout the community.”
