When Kristin Cates worked as an editor for a digital marketing agency, she began volunteering “everywhere and anywhere that matched my passions, and I attribute that volunteerism to many of the great opportunities I’ve had throughout my professional career,” Cates says.
She’s ensured others have those same opportunities to find their passions. Through her work in nonprofit marketing and the regional volunteerism industry, she helped to propel Wisconsin to third in the country for volunteerism through advocacy and developing employee volunteer programs. “We really made a mark on Wisconsin’s philanthropic culture,” Cates says.
Cates is most proud of helping develop the Give Back Bus, a program for Volunteer Fox Cities, which takes teams of volunteers on mystery missions to nonprofits around the Fox Cities. “As I see the impact it’s continuing to make on the local business and nonprofit community, I am continually proud of what it’s been able to do for corporate social responsibility and resource-sharing in Northeast Wisconsin.”
Cates lives in Menasha with her partner, Kirsten, and son, Cameron.
