Vice President of Sales and Marketing / Age 38
Marion Body Works, Inc.
Minnesota native Cal Kanowitz earned a degree in communications from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul and moved to the Fox Cities after college for a role as an insurance broker.
“The rest is history,” he says. “I fell in love with the area.”
Prior to joining Marion Body Works, Kanowitz contributed to founding Hope Clinic and Care Center in 2015.
“Hope Clinic’s mission is to provide compassionate health care and support services to those in need, regardless of their ability to pay,” he says. The work prepped him for a future of servant leadership at Marion Body Works by instilling in him the importance of leading with integrity and compassion.
Starting over in a completely new industry was a challenge, but “it turned out to be the biggest blessing in my career,” says Kanowitz, who has seen Marion Body Works more than double in size. “I get the privilege to contribute to meaningful projects and see the tangible impact of my work.”
Kanowitz served for a period on the board of Homeless Connections, which “allowed me to understand the Fox Valley at a deeper level and provided me an avenue to use my passion to help others,” he says. “No matter what community I am in, I have tried to help others that are experiencing hardship.”
