“Making a difference in your community starts with taking small, meaningful steps. Begin by identifying what you are genuinely passionate about,” says Erin Roethlisberger, who recently started a new role as marketing specialist with Jewelers Mutual. “When you care about something deeply, your passion will naturally drive your actions.”
Roethlisberger’s own passions have been fueled by key personal experiences, including the devastating loss of her boyfriend to suicide. “In an instant, my entire life completely changed,” she says. But the loss drove her to bring awareness to men’s mental health as well as to the need for stronger grief support services. “As a society we need to do better to make sure people don’t feel alone in their darkest moments.”
Roethlisberger cares about animal welfare, evidenced by her fostering of more than 55 animals through Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary. She assisted her father, a longtime sled hockey coach, to develop the Women’s World Challenge for women’s sled hockey to be recognized at the 2030 Paralympics.
“These personal experiences have shaped who I am and taught me a lot about myself and what I am capable of,” says Roethlisberger, a St. Norbert College grad and Greater Green Bay Chamber Future 15 honoree.
