Chief Operating Officer / Age 31

Hurckman Mechanical Industries, Inc.

Jacob Liebers initially thought not pursuing a four-year university degree would hinder his career, but the path he chose gave him a fresh perspective, important skills and unique insights. Liebers started as a sheet metal pre-apprentice and graduated from Wisconsin’s Local 18 Sheet Metal Apprenticeship program.

“My experience has taught me that there are many ways to achieve success, and sometimes the unconventional route can offer the most valuable lessons,” he says.

Promoted to the role of COO at Hurckman six months ago, Liebers says “young leaders bring a fresh perspective on how things are done, offering innovative ideas that can strengthen communities. Their energy, creativity and willingness to think outside the box are essential for continuous improvement and growth.”

Liebers, who is originally from De Pere and enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf, says construction is often misunderstood. “It’s truly a field with endless opportunities,” he says. “It’s a profession where the effort you invest directly shapes the rewards you reap.”

The legacy Liebers hopes to leave is people having enjoyed working with him.

“I want to be remembered as someone who was always there, willing to help, and as a leader who inspired others,” he says.
