President / Age 36

Hurckman Mechanical Industries, Inc.

Jacob Warden earned a mechanical engineering degree from Michigan Technical University and joined Hurckman 10 years ago, first serving as a project manager and then as COO prior to being named president in June 2024.

But much of his education has been on the job, learning to grow into leadership during times when he navigated projects that fell behind, went over budget or when he occasionally overlooked something. “Instead of being dismissed, I was guided through my challenges and reminded that valuable lessons can emerge from such experiences,” Warden says.

By adopting that approach with his own team, “we create an environment where … we learn from [mistakes] and share our insights with peers to enhance the overall success of the company.”

As the president of Hurckman, Warden aspires to be a leader “who not only promotes growth and nurtures talent, but also actively seeks to unlock the full potential of every employee.”

Warden is passionate about the importance of mental health in the workplace. He says it’s essential to “recognize the why” behind people’s successes and struggles.
