Most rewarding in Jodie Federwitz’s professional journey has been “building relationships and connecting people,” she says. As an educator, she built relationships with students and helped them on their paths in life after high school. As the director of PULSE Young Professionals Network for the Fox Cities Chamber, she says she “was able to meet so many wonderful YPs in the Fox Cities, which allowed for many introductions and opportunities for collaboration and growth.”

When Federwitz began working with PULSE, it had about 175 members — many inactive. In two and a half years, with help from volunteers, it grew to more than 800.

“I am proud to pass it on to the next facilitator and challenge myself once again with a new opportunity for growth and development,” says Federwitz.

Federwitz joined Ornua in March. “As a teacher, you have tons of skills that others may not see, from time management to goal setting and systematic problem solving to customer service.”

As a working mom with a young son, Federwitz is concerned about the child care crisis. Until daycare is given the proper support from government and community, she says, “how can we hope to keep parents in the workforce and children prepared for the school years to come?”
