The devastating loss of Kaitlyn Kenealy’s brother to suicide left her paralyzed with grief, creating moments where “I questioned whether I could continue pursuing my work in mental health, let alone manage the demands of running my practice and sharing my story through writing,” Kenealy says.
But a moment of clarity came in a dream that helped her to understand “that my brother’s passing wasn’t the end of my story, but a part of it — one that could fuel my purpose and drive,” she says.
Through her work as a counselor, author and public speaker, Kenealy strives to create awareness and conversation around mental health, and to leave “a lasting impact on individuals who feel seen, heard and supported in their darkest moments.”
The award-winning author of “Healing is Messy AF” is following up with a second book, “Unmasking the Mask,” which focuses on neurodivergence. She says it aims to help others “who have felt misunderstood or silenced.”
As a young leader who is herself neurodivergent, Kenealy brings “a perspective shaped by both personal experience and a deep understanding of what it’s like to navigate the world differently,” she says.
