Events Everlasting & Der Wolf Garten
Kim Chonos launched her floral shop and event planning business 12 years ago, and since then it has evolved — the shop has expanded and the business has become a community hub offering classes and workshops. And this fall, Chonos is opening a new beer garden in downtown New London.
Chonos, who participates in Inspire Wisconsin, says the best part “has been teaching younger people. I love having interns and hiring young people so we can collaborate and teach each other in the always-changing world.”
Chonos herself has gained insight from learning experiences — being part of the Fox Cities Chamber’s Leadership Fox Cities class of 2019-2020 was most influential on her professional success. “This opportunity allowed me to understand how a community works from all facets and gain insight on how I can do the most good,” she says.
As a young adult, Chonos found herself “close to being homeless and utilizing many of the social programs that are available,” and now serves as president of the New London Housing Authority “to help better understand HUD and other housing options so I can continue to help provide resources to those in need. I hope one day to help people create action plans to get out of the cycle.”
