Lindsey Petasek says experiences like serving on the Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay’s Imagine the Future grant steering committee have influenced her professional success. “I learned a great deal about working collaboratively with other community organizations to make a monumental difference,” Petasek says. “The work I led with the girls in the program set fire to my passion for issues surrounding girls and women.”
Petasek also is passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion. “As a Korean-American woman, mother and community member, I am personally connected to this issue,” she says.
Growing up in small-town Wisconsin, Petasek says she “combated both overt and covert racism my entire life.” Her mother, who was a social worker, never stopped building her self-confidence.
“I know the value of experiences, education and exposure to further our connection, understanding and empathy for one another,” Petasek says.
Petasek also had to learn work-life balance. “Over time, I’ve learned that you can make a difference in other ways without having to be the one doing the work directly,” she says.
