Luke Benrud found a role with Dura-Fibre after deciding to return home to Wisconsin with his wife, Andrea, following a few years in California post-college graduation.
“I never envisioned it being a long-term thing,” Benrud says. “I had no education or background in manufacturing or the paper industry. However, I started to find it interesting and was extremely fortunate for the opportunities offered to me.”
One of those was a pivotal chance to own the business, and Benrud jumped in. “Now I’m on a mission to make it a strong investment,” he says.
Benrud, who earned an MBA from UW Oshkosh, says he’s grateful to have had great mentors who “believed in me and at times had more confidence in me than I even did in myself.”
Without the support of his family — including Andrea, who “motivates me every day to try to accomplish great things,” Benrud says he wouldn’t be the leader he is today. “Having three sons that look to me as an example — there is no stronger motivating force than this to be a good person and do what I can to make their future better.”
