Director of Operations, Lead Physical Therapist / Age 31
Paramount Physical Therapy & Training
Sam Schwartz grew up as an athlete, but “at a very young age I was told to hang up team sports due to a variety of serious injuries that required big surgeries and long recoveries,” he says. “I lost my identity not only as an athlete, but as a person.”
He spent years finding that identity again — and he found inspiration in his physical therapist, Lindi Flemmen. “I figured if I could make half the impact she did on me in a day’s work, I’d be fortunate and fulfilled in my career,” Schwartz says.
Schwartz, who has a doctorate of physical therapy, moved into his current leadership role a year and a half ago, which has “forced me to build skills outside of the norm for myself — skills like team-building, leadership, emotional intelligence, etc.,” he says. “It has pushed me to be an even better clinician.”
When he was passed over for a Future 15 award, Schwartz re-evaluated his community service. He launched his nonprofit, the Paramount Run Club, to help support the mental health community by getting people together outdoors for a fitness activity — “two things that are proven to help with mental health concerns,” he says.
A year later, Schwartz was selected as a Greater Green Bay Chamber Future 15 recipient and the Young Professional of the Year.
