Commercial Underwriter / Age 35
Acuity Insurance
Tim Muldoon, who joined Acuity 10 years ago, spent time at the company in business consulting and human resources before moving into his current role three years ago. “Starting over can be a difficult concept to accept, but I try to utilize my experience from each position to make larger gains within a shorter timeframe,” Muldoon says.
The most rewarding part of his professional journey so far has been helping to bring new people to work at Acuity.
“A new job or a career change can be a life-altering decision, and I’m glad to have played a part in that for many people at this company,” he says.
Muldoon likes making change within his community as well, including as a board member for myTeamTriumph, which provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in endurance events they might not have otherwise experienced, says Muldoon — an avid runner who has completed three 100-mile ultramarathons.
The best advice he ever received was from an executive who imparted the importance of spending time with his family, which includes two daughters and his wife, Katie.
“Without her, I’m not part of this distinguished group — it’s a team effort,” Muldoon says of Katie.
