The Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment will fund 44 new projects focused on improving health in Wisconsin.
The grants of up to $250,000 were awarded through a competitive application process, with both community-based nonprofit organizations and Medical College of Wisconsin faculty submitting projects for consideration.
AHW Momentum Grants support research and programs designed to improve health statewide. The funding covers expenses incurred by project teams during a 24-month period starting Nov. 1.
AHW awarded 26 grants totaling $6,407,468. Of the 26 grants, 12 support projects with statewide reach, while nine projects focus on urban centers and five are rooted in rural communities.
In total, six urban counties and 27 rural counties are included in community-led projects in this round of AHW funding.
Additionally, AHW is funding 18 research projects with grants totaling $4,484,034.
