Local news about the companies, people and issues that impact business in Northeast Wisconsin and beyond.

At Insight, we pride ourselves on our comprehensive coverage of Northeast Wisconsin’s diverse industry landscape. So it’s probably long overdue that we are introducing this inaugural issue of Insight on Philanthropy, which spotlights the nonprofit and social sector that is both a vital lifeline to so many in our community as well as a major driver of our region’s economy.

On the pages that follow, you will read about the missions of some of the nonprofit organizations that are working on the ground in Northeast Wisconsin, as well as for-profit companies that have committed resources to philanthropy in transformative ways.

In the spirit of giving, participating companies have chosen some of their most cherished nonprofit partners to spotlight in Insight on Philanthropy. Miron Construction sponsored the presence of Rawhide Youth Services and Boys & Girls Club of the Fox Valley; Shea Electric & Communications sponsored Agnesian Health Care Hospice Home of Hope, Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County; Fox Communities Credit Union sponsored HeadsUp Fox Cities and The Compassionate Connections Center; Waupaca Foundry sponsored Hides for Heroes and RENEW Wisconsin; The Boldt Group sponsored the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center and Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity.

We know from research and experience that storytelling is a critical component of philanthropy, so as we grow Insight on Philanthropy we welcome your feedback on how the publication can be even more effective and broad-reaching in telling these important stories. We know that this issue of the publication represents just a small sampling of our region’s generous corporate and nonprofit culture, but nonetheless I hope you learn something new or make a connection as a result of reading this special issue.

We have many partners to thank for helping making Insight on Philanthropy a reality, including the Northeast Wisconsin chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. We will be distributing copies of this publication at AFP’s National Philanthropy Day 2025, the honorees for which are also highlighted in this publication. And while we are publishing this magazine as a kickoff to the year-end giving season, we plan to keep the conversation going on our website and in our e-newsletter. We of course will also continue to spotlight the nonprofit industry as a critical business sector in Insight on Business.

There are still opportunities to be part of the 2026 digital issue and join the online directory, or to get involved in the 2027 edition. Visit insightonbusiness.com/insightonphilanthropy or contact your Insight account manager for more details.

With my own professional roots stretching deeply in the nonprofit sector, Insight on Philanthropy is particularly meaningful to me.

I am excited to watch it grow with your support.
