Local news about the companies, people and issues that impact business in Northeast Wisconsin and beyond.

Here in Northeast Wisconsin, manufacturing is more than just a business sector — it’s a way of life. That’s why we always expect to see not only manufacturing leaders filling the expo floor at the annual Manufacturing First Expo & Conference, but also pros from the worlds of finance, tech, construction, education, insurance and more. After all, collaboration is one of the biggest reasons our region is a hub of manufacturing excellence.

This commitment to collaboration and excellence in the New North region will be on display Oct. 25 as Manufacturing First returns to Resch Expo in Green Bay. Resch Expo was a new location for the event last year, and it allowed Manufacturing First to grow with record attendance and more exhibitors than ever. That means we’re still saving a place for you at this year’s event; registration is open at manufacturingfirst.com.

A full day of learning and networking will kick off with a keynote address by nationally-renowned historian and leadership expert Bill Fournet of The Persimmon Group, who will speak on the important topic of leading through change. Major changes, including technology and artificial intelligence, are on the minds of business leaders everywhere — and with no roadmap available for finding the way. Fournet’s message will focus on leveraging diversity, embracing generational change and leading with understanding.

But while Manufacturing First — a collaboration between Insight Publications and the NEW Manufacturing Alliance presented by First Business Bank — is known for its high-profile keynotes, the conference will feature a wide variety of speakers on the main stage and in breakout sessions throughout the day, including a pair of lunch and learn sessions on the topics of Industry 4.0 and authentic leadership. Go online to manufacturingfirst.com to browse the full menu of presentations that will be offered this year.

A day on the expo floor with more than 200 exhibitors will culminate with the always-popular “Power Hour,” a happy hour including prize giveaways at which you’re sure to make a great connection.

Manufacturing Month is all October long, and you can find ways to connect and celebrate every day at newmfgalliance.org and insightonbusiness.com, but make sure you don’t miss the grand finale: Wisconsin’s largest annual manufacturing conference. See you at Resch Expo Oct. 25!
