Ahlstrom announced prior to an earnings call Feb. 26 that it would “right-size” production at its plant in Mosinee.
According to a statement from the company, it will close the Mosinee pulp mill and shut down two paper machines. Two remaining machines will be upgraded with advanced technology and automation.
The company said the changes would result in 200 employees at Mosinee being laid off.
A letter sent to suppliers said one machine would be idled by June 30 and the other by September 30. The letter also stated that Ahlstrom’s Kaukauna plant would “continue its full scope of operations.”
