The American Indian Chamber of Commerce Wisconsin will host its business awards gala Dec. 9 at Baird Center in Milwaukee.
During the event, the AICCW will celebrate the donation of $1.2 million in grants and recognize over 100 grant recipients. Gala tickets are available at aiccw.org.
Business owners across Wisconsin applied for the AICCW’s economic development grant program earlier this year. The program is funded by the Federal American Rescue Plan Act hrough the Wisconsin Department of Administration, for the purpose of supporting Indigenous-owned businesses and small businesses across the state in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event will include a silent auction and entertainment by Laughing Fox.
AICCW is the longest-running Native chamber of commerce in the country. Led by recently appointed Executive Director Kevin Chesnik, AICCW is an advocate for Indigenous-owned businesses, and continues to build a stronger, more vibrant economic future for Indigenous businesses and communities.
“The Business Awards Banquet is an opportunity for Wisconsin’s Indigenous entrepreneurs to gather and connect; as well as to celebrate the economic development grant program, which is bringing new possibilities for success, innovation, and prosperity across our state,” said Chesnik.
The American Indian Chamber of Commerce Wisconsin has more than 70 active members.
