Business development

International Airport, offering nonstop seasonal service to Fort Myers Jan. 30 through April 13. Flights will depart twice weekly, with service increasing to four times per week starting in late March.

N.E.W. Community Clinic opened a new behavioral health clinic at 424 S. Monroe St., Green Bay. The new clinic will be led by Dr. Katie Patterson, N.E.W. Community Clinic’s director of behavioral health.

The Netherlands Ministry of Defense has ordered 150 Dutch expeditionary patrol vehicles, known as the “Kaaiman,” from Oshkosh Defense. There has also been a three-year contract extension for the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles A2 valued at $792 million.

North Shore Bank opened a new branch at 820 Main Ave., De Pere, with seven-day banking in the drive-up, private meeting spaces, plus extended drive-up hours. The bank’s Ashwaubenon branch at 2215 S. Oneida St. has closed and its services have transitioned to the West De Pere branch. Also, North Shore Bank unveiled its first-ever virtual reality “live your best life” experience through a fully immersive, 360-degree environment. The bank brings the mobile VR van to community events at no cost.

J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. launched a newly updated FleetMentor System. The cloud-based platform features a variety of upgrades that make it easier for small to mid-sized motor carriers and companies to manage common safety and compliance challenges.

Sam Meyer State Farm Agency opened a new location in a renovated historic building at 127 N. Main St., Fond du Lac.

Van Ert Electric has expanded its operations and acquired a larger facility at 415 Trowbridge Drive, Fond du Lac.

Consolidated Construction Company, Inc., Appleton, has expanded its in-house millwork division by opening a dedicated cabinetry and carpentry facility at 2923 American Drive in the town of Clayton.

AbleLight Thrift Shop closed its location at 336 N. Military Ave. in Green Bay July 3 and will reopen in September at 2269 True Lane.

Curt G. Joa, Inc., a machine manufacturing company based in Sheboygan Falls, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cellulose Converting Solutions, SpA, one of Italy’s major machine manufacturers.

BW Converting, Green Bay, announced that a digital innovation initiative centered around fault anomalies has been selected as one of the first projects for the new Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab at the UW-Milwaukee campus.

Bliffert Lumber merged with Jauquet Lumber Co. Inc., a family-owned business based in Green Bay.

Bel Group announced it will invest $20 million in a new production unit for The Laughing Cow, Little Chute, and in Boursin cheese production capabilities. The Appleton Post-Crescent reported the expansion is expected to produce 50 new jobs.

GreyLion, a U.S. private equity firm, has acquired Sheboygan-based Torginol, a manufacturer and marketer of decorative flakes, quartz and other products for resinous flooring systems in residential and commercial applications.

Construction

Keller, Inc. is the architect and general contractor/builder on an 18,800-square-foot facility for Closet 1 Interiors on Neubert Road in Greenville. Other projects include a 1,200-square-foot interior remodel building project for 413 Dental Wellness at 2121 S. Webster Ave., Green Bay, and a 56,700-square-foot interior conversion of a bank building into housing apartments on the top floors for 425 Pine St., Green Bay. In 2024, Keller, Inc. ranked No. 6 in the nation for tonnage and No. 6 for square footage among the Top Metal Builders.

Bayland Buildings held a groundbreaking for construction of a new 12,000-square-foot office building for CLA at 3727 Joliet Trail, Sheboygan. Other projects include: improvements at the elementary and high school buildings in the Algoma School District; a 9,870-square-foot emergency service building in Silver Cliff; a 41,448-square-foot extension to the current facility at Country Villa Assisted Living in Omro; and a 3,738-square-foot addition at Living Stone Alliance Church in Appleton.

Emplify Health by Bellin Green Bay Hospital was recognized by UW Organ and Tissue Donation for Excellence in Tissue Donation.

Verve, a Credit Union, has earned Bank On certification for its essential checking program — a free checking account designed to serve unbanked and underbanked individuals.

Waupaca Foundry Plant 4 in Marinette has been awarded the 2024 General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award, marking the third time the company has received this honor following recognition in 2018 and 2023.

The Greater Green Bay Chamber hosted more than 450 attendees at the KI Convention Center in downtown Green Bay to honor and recognize area businesses. The 2025 award recipients are: Entrepreneurial Award, Odyssey Climbing + Fitness; Small Business Growth Award, Shoreline Hometown Credit Union; Large Business Growth Award, Encompass Early Education; and Cornerstone Award, Schneider.

HSHS St. Vincent Hospital and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center in Green Bay and HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan are recipients of the Excellence in Tissue Donation Award from the American Tissues Services Foundation for 2024.

Grants

SSM Health donated $20,000 to the Fond du Lac County Health Department Save a Smile Dental Program, $45,000 to the Blandine House, $15,000 to Drug Free Communities of Fond du Lac, $15,000 to Fondy Cares, and $10,000 to support the Moraine Park Technical College Foundation’s nursing, nursing assistant and medical assistant scholarships.

Voith made a $2,000 donation to the Appleton chapter of the Sleep in Heavenly Peace nonprofit. The donation funded a bed-building event where employees from Voith Meri Environmental Solutions came together to build 25 beds for children in need in the Appleton area.

The Green Bay Packers Foundation announced it has awarded a total of $1.75 million in impact grants to 11 nonprofit organizations serving Brown, Dane and Milwaukee counties.

Education

The Board of Regents for the Universities of Wisconsin unanimously approved a tuition increase for the 2025-26 academic year. Tuition will increase by 4% at all universities, with an optional 1% increase for a maximum of 5%. All universities except UW-Green Bay plan to adopt the additional 1%.

Wolf River Community Bank launched its first-ever scholarship program, awarding three scholarships to graduating seniors — one each from the bank’s branch location high schools: Hortonville, New London and Shiocton. Each recipient was awarded $1,500.

Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative provided five young adults $2,000 scholarship awards to pursue higher education. Two scholarships will be awarded to students currently enrolled in college or university, and three scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors.

Fox Valley Technical College announced it has reached credit transfer agreements with the UW-Milwaukee and the UW-Stevens Point.

The Aspen Institute College Excellence Program invited Northeast Wisconsin Technical College to become part of the Presidents & Trustees Collaborative.

Essity has awarded a total of $21,000 in scholarships to Fox Cities local students.

CenturyLink will pay $450,000 in civil forfeitures, surcharges, fees and investigative costs to settle a complaint that alleged the business misrepresented the monthly price of internet services to Wisconsin customers.

Gold Cross Ambulance Service deployed a leave-behind Narcan kit program in collaboration with public health departments across Winnebago, Outagamie, Calumet and Waupaca counties, as well as the cities of Menasha and Appleton.
