Broadband regional workshops are planned for the spring including one in Green Bay April 10.
The workshop, hosted by the Community Economic Development arm of UW Extension, will focus on permitting, engagement and learning from experience for implementing broadband expansion. Specifically it will help communities prepare for BEAD funding.
The event is ideal for elected officials, community and business leaders, and volunteer committee members involved in broadband expansion efforts, as well as organizations supporting broadband planning and permitting authorities. That could include schools, libraries, regional planning commissions, internet service providers and officials from the Department of Natural Resources, Department of Transportation, Forest Service and more.
The full day agenda includes updates from the Wisconsin Public Service Commission and National Telecommunications and Information Administration, presentations from permitting authorities, engagment and endorsement discussions and case studies of successful implementations.
