Business can still participated in a job fair from 1 to 3 p.m., July 14 at the Berlin Public Library, 121 W. Park Ave., Berlin, Wisconsin.
The community-wide event had already been planned as one of the Mini-Job Fairs that the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development hold monthly throughout the region, but was expanded to accommodate up to 12 employers interested in meeting soon-to-be-laid off HyPro workers, along with others from the Berlin community.
HyPro, Inc., located at 546 S. Industrial Park Drive, Berlin, announced June 17 it would be permanently closing its Berlin location, resulting in the layoff of 24 workers by Aug. 16. HyPro is a contract manufacturer specializing in machining, assembly, and complex component manufacturing for various industries.
Along with employers, members of the region’s Rapid Response Team will be present on site to speak with any workers impacted by the HyPro layoffs and anyone else from the community. They can help answer questions about Unemployment Insurance, retraining after loss of job, and steps to move forward with a job search, including a resume refresh.
The job fair is open to all. Among employers registered to recruit new hires are Associated Training Services, Brightstar Care, Prolec Energy, Synergy HomeCare, Tann Corporations and the United State Postal Service. Space still exists for employers with an interest in recruiting at the job fair. They can learn more by visiting foxvalleyjobcenters.org.
