Manufacturing report card
Wisconsin received a “B” for manufacturing and logistics, according to the 2019 Manufacturing Scorecard put together by Ball State University. The scorecard analyzes how each state ranks among its peers in several areas of the economy that underlie the success of logistics and manufacturing.
A closer look at 2019 grades, which were unchanged from 2018:
• Human capital: B-plus
• Manufacturing industry and logistics: B
• Diversification: C-plus
• Benefits costs: C
• Productivity, innovation and tax climate: C-minus
Wisconsin’s grades decreased from A to B-plus in liability gap and from C-plus to Cin its global position.
