Brown County has reached a deal with C. Reiss Terminals that will lead to the relocation of coal piles from a site on Mason Street in Green Bay to the former Pulliam Power Plant site.

The Pulliam site will be leased by C. Reiss for 60 years with Brown County receiving annual payments of $350,000 adjusted every five years based on the Consumer Price Index.

“C. Reiss is pleased to have reached agreement with Brown County on a long-term lease for the northern section of the former Pulliam Plant site,” says C. Reiss CEO Keith Haselhoff. “This is an important step forward in the effort to expand capacity at the Port of Green Bay, facilitate the relocation of coal piles from the downtown Mason Street riverfront, and advance the community’s long-standing goal of redeveloping that site.”

The city of Green Bay has sought relocation of the coal piles for decades to allow for redevelopment on Mason Street.
