Brown County and the Port of Green Bay will review eight proposals for development of the former Pulliam Plant Site.
According to the project background, the Port of Green Bay intends to construct a new multi-use Port terminal facility on 37.5 acres at the mouth of the Fox River. The parcel, which is currently zoned General Industrial, may be divided into several sections to maximize available funding and to provide development options for one or more users.
C. Reiss was one of the responding parties and said in its plan it would invest $28.5 million in the site including $15 million from the state Neighborhood Investment Fund, $10 million from a Maritime Administration’s PIDP Grant; and $3.5 million of C. Reiss funds as payment for purchasing the site (if the purchase option is selected).
The city of Green Bay is backing the C. Reiss plan with the understanding that the company would then move or deplete coal piles currently located at its Mason Street site. The city and C. Reiss have a memorandum of understanding that would result in development at Mason Street that is appropriate to its downtown location.
