I’ll be honest: After receiving an astounding number of 40 Under 40 nominations to last year’s inaugural awards program, for a second I wondered if anyone would be left for subsequent years. How could our region have so many talented, ambitious, bright young leaders?
Boy, was I wrong to wonder that.
This year’s nominations did not disappoint, and I’m happy to report that this year’s selection committee had just as difficult a task as it did last year. Special thanks to this year’s judges, whose time and insights were invaluable: UW Oshkosh’s Chief of Staff and Insight editorial board member Alex Hummel; Valley Transit’s Mobility Manager Sarah Schneider; Acuity’s Senior Commercial Underwriter and previous 40 Under 40 award recipient Tanya Arentsen; and New North’s Vice President of Talent Development Rebecca Deschane.
Together, they selected 40 of the New North’s most inspiring young professionals. From financial gurus to a career coach, nonprofit leaders to PR professionals, this list of 40 individuals is a diverse representation of young talent in Northeast Wisconsin. You will see leaders from across industries, a true testament to the thriving businesses calling Northeast Wisconsin home. It will be our honor to recognize them at an awards event May 29 at The Weidner in Green Bay.
We hope our 40 Under 40 awards program has a ripple effect on the broader community. By showcasing the region’s thriving talent pool, we hope the program serves as a catalyst for professional growth, talent attraction and community development, making it a win-win for businesses and the community alike.
