Local news about the companies, people and issues that impact business in Northeast Wisconsin and beyond.

Coyne Borree draws from past experience — including time in a family construction business, in the insurance claims industry and managing a franchise restoration company. Wanting to achieve the best outcomes for customers, he decided to start his own restoration company to help people recover from storms, fires, floods and other damage.

Borree credits a long-time friend and mentor, the late Bill Jackson, with helping him learn he is “capable of accomplishing so much more than what I ever thought was possible.”

While Borree has weathered his share of challenges — including having to diversify during the COVID-19 pandemic — the company has now acquired four small companies and is in the process of acquiring two more.

Midwest Restoration has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Fox West Chamber of Commerce Service Business of the Year and Inc. 5000’s America’s Fastest Growing Private Company award.

Borree has spent time as a disaster relief volunteer for the Red Cross and launched his own nonprofit: the Midwest Restoration Foundation, which has donated more than $1 million since the start of the company.
