Jay Walters, who has been CFO for 12 years, saw U.S. Venture through the challenges of the pandemic, when “the liquidity on our bank facility became challenged,” he recalls. “We quickly took actions on our working capital, capital expenditures and costs across the organization.”

While revenue was down due to the closure of numerous businesses, he adds, “our liquidity improved by over 50% and EBITDA increased by over 35%, delivering record earnings and growth for the fiscal year due in part to these actions.”

During his tenure at U.S. Venture, Walters has been part of more than 25 completed acquisitions valued at over $1 billion. Among his proudest moments, he says, is being “part of a leadership team that grew shareholder equity by an 18% compounded annual growth rate, creating more than $1.3 billion in value for our shareholders.”

Walters also is proud of his focus on developing people, including direct reports who went on to lead other companies.
