Julie Duckett has been a part of the BayCare organization for more than 25 years, becoming CFO in February 2023. Additionally, since August 2023, she has served as president and CEO of the BayCare Clinic Foundation, a role that has allowed her to lead the charge on improving mental health in the region.
“Mental health struggles have greatly affected my own family, as we lost my godson/nephew to suicide in 2023,” Duckett says. “This mission is personal for me.”
BayCare has committed to providing half a million dollars over five years to area organizations that support mental health. “We need to end the stigma and encourage all to ask for help if needed,” she says.
Over the last 25 years, BayCare Clinic has seen “tremendous growth and success,” completing multiple mergers with various independent clinics. Duckett also worked tirelessly with her team through the pandemic on projections and plans for physician leadership to get through those initial months. “Transparency and collaboration were the guiding principles that brought us through,” she says.
“Being a good listener is a critical quality.”
