After Sabrina Kloehn and her husband Cory moved to Wisconsin from North Carolina in March 2020, her new role as director of financial planning and analysis with Goodwill NCW came with the immediate and unprecedented challenge of the pandemic.
Kloehn “started to define scenarios … so we could start to play out different potential futures and understand key sensitivities,” she says — an effort and partnership that made all the difference. “I was still learning the business, so it was critical to lean into the expertise across the organization.”
In 2023, Kloehn was named among Wisconsin’s Most Influential Asian American Leaders; while at RTI International in North Carolina, she received an award as a thought leader, financial architect and program manager on a $100 million strategic cost initiative.
This year’s Mentor Award recipient, Kloehn says “high learning agility” is key for the next generation of financial leaders, including the development of soft skills.
As parent to a son, Andrei, who was adopted from Ukraine at age 12, Kloehn says the war in Ukraine has directly affected her friends and family. The Kloehns have sponsored and hosted Ukrainian families through Uniting 4 Ukraine and MG Global Support Foundation.
