The city of Green Bay has been selected to participate in Work for America’s inaugural Talent Accelerator cohort, a free, eight‑week virtual workshop that helps local governments improve and speed up their hiring systems.
Work for America is a nonprofit initiative focused on tackling the government staffing challenges by helping state and local governments remove barriers to public sector hiring. Its Talent Accelerator Workshops combine weekly instruction, guided working sessions, and one‑on‑one coaching to give participating cities clear, actionable plans to improve a specific part of their hiring systems.
Green Bay’s HR and operations staff will take part in virtual sessions totaling approximately three hours per week, working with experts from Work for America and peers in other cities. The cohort will focus on shortening hiring timelines, reducing bottlenecks, and improving the experience for job candidates.
Participation in the Talent Accelerator will support Green Bay’s broader efforts to attract and retain mission‑driven employees who deliver essential services for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Work for America envisions a public sector where service is celebrated as a rewarding, impactful career path, and where governments have the tools they need to hire effectively for the long term. Green Bay’s selection for this cohort reflects the City’s commitment to innovation in human resources and to building a strong, effective workforce for the community it serves.
