Driving change sustainably at the 40th U.S. Venture Open

Sustainability Series

For four decades, the U.S. Venture Open has been a platform to drive change, raising more than $70 million to end poverty in Northeast Wisconsin. This year, as we celebrate 40 years of the U.S. Venture Open, we’re renewing a commitment not only to our community but also to the planet.

Enhancing waste and recycling efforts

Our waste and recycling program continues to evolve as does our journey with sustainability. By partnering with WM for the second consecutive year, we are building the infrastructure and providing education for waste handling across all eight venues, including six golf courses. This initiative ensures that sustainability is a growing consideration of the U.S. Venture Open, aligning with our purpose of Finding a Better Way.

Carbon offsets for a greener event

For the third year, we’re offsetting our event’s carbon footprint by using carbon credits to cover emissions associated with U.S. Venture Open attendees’ transportation and lodging, catering and even golf cart energy use. What makes this effort even more special is that the credits come from our own Mississippi River Islands project. This initiative reflects our commitment to reducing environmental impact while continuing to support innovative sustainability solutions.

A vision for the future

The 40th U.S. Venture Open is a time to reflect on how far we’ve come and where we are headed. And our mission remains steadfast — ending poverty in Northeast Wisconsin.

We look forward to continuing to evolve and inspiring others to join the effort to protect our communities and our planet. For more details about our sustainability efforts, visit https://www.usventureopen.com/sustainability/.
