Eagle Performance Plastics carries its family-owned mindset into its company culture. “With over 53 years in operation, the company prioritizes its employees, fostering a familial work environment with zero layoffs,” says Kat Polack, human resources manager.
The company’s ‘Eagle Enhancers’ team “enriches the employee experience through initiatives like summer hours, employee recognition, fitness programs, monthly popcorn days, cookouts and an annual appreciation week,” Polack adds. The company also hosts Timber Rattlers outings and cornhole tournaments, as well as provides quarterly catered meals.
As the company quickly grows — expanding from 40 to 90 employees in recent years — leadership is “committed to continually enhancing the workplace for every team member,” Polack says.
For one, Eagle Performance Plastics has implemented more team discussions to encourage innovative solutions and teamwork. “This has assisted us in raising productivity and boosting both revenue and profits,” she says.
The company offers mentorship programs, trainings and advancement opportunities, and “we’ve also consistently reviewed and rolled out more inclusive and equitable policies over the years to protect all employees,” Polack says. Leaders also receive annual training from the company’s EAP provider.
The company also rolled out employee surveys “to better understand their experiences and identify needs for improvement,” Polack says. “From a recruiting standpoint, we’ve adopted a new HRIS (human resources information system) to ensure we are able to use a variety of channels to attract candidates from all different backgrounds, as well as put a focus on building partnerships with schools in the area to tap into diverse talent pools.”
