The Fox Valley Workforce Development Board has opened a community support form on the Oshkosh Job Center website at oshkoshjobcenter.com to assist those impacted by the July 27 tornado.
The online form allows local workers and business owners to share how they have been affected, whether through sudden layoffs or temporary or permanent workplace closures.
“As impacted residents move to the next stage of storm recovery, both employers and employees may find their businesses are either temporarily or permanently closed,” said Anthony Snyder, CEO of the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board. “We urge anyone facing job loss or operational disruptions to connect with the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board immediately. Our team is fully prepared to provide immediate unemployment guidance, job placement resources, and employer support to help our community navigate these next steps.”
Anyone who submits the form will be connected with a local workforce professional. These specialists are ready to offer guidance for essential recovery services, including:
• Unemployment Claims: Step-by-step help for displaced workers navigating the Unemployment Insurance filing process.
• WARN Notices: Compliance support and transition planning for business owners who must file local worker notices.
• Free Career Training: Enrollment in retraining classes fully paid for by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
• Job Seeker Services: Personalized help with building resumes and finding new employment opportunities.
