The Feb. 29 episode of NEW Manufacturing Insights, a joint podcast of the Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance (NEWMA) and Insight on Manufacturing (IOM) magazine co-hosted by NEWMA Executive Director Ann Franz and IOM editor Kate Bruns, features Pat McGettigan, executive vice president for products and integration at Excellerate, one of three divisions of Menasha-based Faith Technologies Incorporated.
McGettigan talked about the company’s new smart manufacturing facility in Little Chute and how Excellerate is leading on a number of business fronts, including technology, sustainability and employee wellness.
He says modular construction and some of the products manufactured by Excellerate are filling a serious need amid drastic changes to the construction industry.
“The construction industry in general is on a decline as far as people. By 2030, 50% of that workforce will be retiring and we’re not backfilling it fast enough,” McGettigan told Bruns and Franz. “There’s more large-scale projects than there’s ever been. The data center market is growing at an accelerated rate, and then all the battery plants to support EV technology are coming online.”
The overall labor pool is stressed by these projects, McGettigan explains, which is where Excellerate is able to step in and be an asset to the industry. Listen to the full episode now.
