The Board of Directors of the Oshkosh Child Development Center hired Elizabeth “Liz” Storms as executive director of the new child development facility.

The Oshkosh Child Development Center is on the first floor of The Corridor, a newly developed housing and office complex in the 600 block of downtown Oshkosh. The OCDC is targeting an Aug. 1 opening. The non-profit center will be the first fully licensed child development center in the area to offer two shifts of care, providing greater flexibility for working families. R

esidents of The Corridor apartments will receive preference on the enrollment waiting list. The Corridor will host an open house July 9 starting at 3:30 p.m. with tours of the new housing and child development center offered.

Storms earned her associate degree in early childhood education in 2015 and is currently pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in early childhood education. Most recently, she worked at the YMCA of Neenah-Menasha, where she taught and led a classroom of 3-year-old children.

She brings a strong passion for music into the classroom, often creating songs to help guide children’s behavior and provide direction in a fun and engaging way.

“Creating a nurturing and supportive environment where children can thrive is at the heart of everything I do,” said Storms. “I am excited to help build a center that supports not only children, but their families as well.”

Storms and her husband, Josh, reside in Oshkosh with their three children. More information about the Oshkosh Child Development Center can be found at www.oshkoshchilddevelopment.org or by calling 920-267-8101.
