Farmers for Sustainable Food board elects three

Farmers for Sustainable Food, a farmer-led, industry-supported organization empowering farmers to lead in sustainable farming practices, elected three directors to its board during the group’s annual meeting at the 2026 Dairy Strong conference Jan. 14.

The three new board members include:

  • Paul Cornette, Cornette Dairy in Luxemburg, was re-elected to the board and continues to serve as board president. He represents Peninsula Pride Farms, a farmer-led watershed conservation group in Door and Kewaunee Counties.
  • Bryan Stanek, managing director at Compeer Financial, was re-elected to the board. He has over 26 years of experience in the farm credit system and has been involved in the dairy industry throughout his career. Stanek will serve as board treasurer.
  • Jeremy Heim, Heim’s Hillcrest Dairy and Heim Brothers Custom in Algoma, was elected to his first term on the board. Heim is committed to advancing sustainable farming, having served as a board member for his local farmer-led watershed conservation group, Peninsula Pride Farms, and a board member of the Professional Nutrient Applicators Association of Wisconsin.

Lee Kinnard, Kinnard Farms, was recognized as an outgoing board member.

Other board members: Mike Berget, Lafayette Ag Stewardship Alliance; Dr. Paul Rapnicki, Grande Cheese, secretary; Mark Loehr, Sheboygan River Progressive Farmers; John VandenBoom, Calumet County Ag Stewardship Alliance, vice president; Drew Kessler, Houston Engineering, Inc; and Trevor Fleege, Agropur.
