Sustainability goes beyond being a simple initiative; it’s a deeply embedded value that defines who we are and drives us to create a brighter future for our people, communities, and the planet. Our commitment is evident in the actionable steps we’ve taken as an organization to reduce our carbon footprint, minimize waste, protect the environment and promote community well-being.
Our Green Bay-based Breakthrough team is a prime example of this dedication, championing sustainability through various initiatives. Since relocating to their current office space in early 2022, the team has targeted single-use plastics, such as water bottles and coffee cups, by providing reusable water bottles and stocking the office with sustainable dinnerware, drinkware and utensils.
The Employee, Planet, Impact, Community committee at Breakthrough has played a key role in driving further sustainability measures at the office including:
• Battery Recycling: Diverted over 100 lbs. of batteries from landfills in just two years
• Plastic Bag Recycling: Diverting hundreds of grocery bags, plastic shipping sleeves, bread and produce bags, and other miscellaneous plastic wrap items bi-weekly, giving loads of new life to a tough-to-recycle material
• Reducing Single-Use Foodware: Improved recycling practices for events focused on eliminating disposable foodware for catered internal events in addition to cleaning and recycling catering trays (primarily plastic and aluminum containers)
• Sustainability Awareness: Share regular updates and resources with team members to encourage sustainable practices through our ZeroMe® app as well as internal communication tools throughout the U.S. Venture organization.
• Promoting Sustainable Products: Collaborate with clients to highlight eco-friendly products, inspiring team members to make more sustainable choices at work and home
