A fire at Pellet America in Appleton June 16 caused damage estimated at $100,000.
The Appleton Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the business around 8 a.m. Battalion Chief Rick James of the Appleton Police Department confirmed with our crew on the scene that the fire occurred at Pellet America.
Crews found flames and heavy black smoke at the center of the building and had to cut a hole into the garage to gain access to the fire. They were able to put the fire out within 45 minutes. Firefighters remained on the scene for about two hours.
There were no injuries and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Appleton Fire Department was assisted by the Appleton Police Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, and Outagamie County CERT.
