Looking back, what personal experiences or milestones have had the greatest influence on your professional success?
Several years ago, during my time in college while playing volleyball, I went through a difficult time. The turning point came when I had a coach who wholeheartedly believed in me, supported me, and pushed me to become my best self. Her love for her players and belief in them as students, athletes, and women, never wavered. Over time, that belief helped me build confidence, step into a leadership role, and lift up my teammates.
What has been the most rewarding part of your professional journey so far?
My deep-rooted goals are to support individuals in becoming the best versions of themselves and creating opportunities to lift them up. One initiative I am most proud of was supporting several former foster youths in sharing their story on a larger platform, in an effort to break down stigmas of teens in foster care and to support efforts in identifying foster parents for teens.
What role do you think young leaders like yourself play in shaping the future of communities?
Young leaders are the driving force behind change in their communities. We bring fresh perspectives, challenge outdated systems, and push for solutions that create lasting impact. We bridge generational gaps, respecting the progress made while innovating for the future.
What do you wish more people understood about your field or industry?
Workforce development is so much more than just finding jobs—it’s about unlocking opportunities, equipping individuals with the skills to build lasting careers, and fostering self-sufficiency.
What is one cause or issue that you’re especially passionate about, and why? As a former college athlete, I am passionate about others having a space to exercise, develop relationships, and feel part of something greater. GRIT 920 is that and so much more — it is a community that embodies everyone for who they are and lifts them up to become their best, and strongest, selves.
