Looking back, what personal experiences or milestones have had the greatest influence on your professional success?
One of the most defining moments was the loss of my brother to suicide. It profoundly impacted me and sparked a deep drive to pursue a career in mental health. His passing highlighted the importance of mental wellness and the need to be a voice for those who feel unheard.
What role do you think young leaders like yourself play in shaping the future of communities?
I believe young leaders like myself have a unique and vital role in shaping the future of our communities. We bring fresh perspectives, new energy, and a deep sense of responsibility to create lasting change. The challenges of today—mental health crises, systemic inequality, and the need for compassionate leadership—demand innovative, inclusive solutions.
What advice would you give to others looking to make a difference in their communities?
Start with your heart. Find the cause that truly moves you, the one that resonates deeply with your personal experiences, values, or passions. I also encourage people to embrace vulnerability. It’s easy to think that in order to make an impact, you need to have all the answers or be some kind of superhero, but the truth is, people connect to authenticity.
How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
I love writing. Being an author has given me a voice in ways I never imagined, and I’m incredibly proud of the impact Healing is Messy AF has had on readers around the world. This book is intensely personal, as it explores my neurodivergent experience, unmasking the layers I’ve hidden behind for so long. Beyond writing, I love spending time in my community, advocating for mental health, and supporting initiatives that align with my values.
What legacy do you hope to leave, both in your career and in your community?
The legacy I hope to leave is one rooted in compassion, resilience, and the belief that healing is possible, even in the face of life’s greatest challenges. In my career, I want to be remembered as someone who showed up authentically, who embraced vulnerability in both my personal and professional life, and who provided others with the tools to heal and thrive.
