When Neenah resident Pete Dulcamara left his role as chief scientist at Kimberly-Clark, his mission to improve lives with science didn’t end — it simply evolved.

His new book, “High-Tech Heroes: Why Gen Z Is Our Last and Best Chance to Save the Planet,” turns the spotlight onto the generation he believes is uniquely positioned to lead humanity forward.

Publishing June 10 with Armin Lear Press, the book is both “a wake-up call and a love letter to Gen Z.” Dulcamara says “High-Tech Heroes” challenges young people to embrace bold, ethical innovation and use exponential technologies — like AI, biotech and clean energy — to address the world’s most pressing problems.

“I’ve spent my career helping companies bring meaningful solutions to life,” says Dulcamara, who has decades of experience in sustainable innovation and global R&D leadership. “But this book was born from a more personal mission — to empower the next generation to take the lead in creating a healthier, more just and more sustainable world.”

The book also touches on Dulcamara’s vision of “humanity-centric innovation” which is an approach that aligns business success with societal impact and environmental stewardship. His goal is to inspire not only young readers, but also the leaders, educators and mentors who support them.

Dulcamara has been a featured speaker at TEDxOshkosh and served in advisory roles in emerging tech and social innovation. He says “High-Tech Heroes” is a natural next chapter, “but it’s also a deeply personal one, written with the belief that the future isn’t something to fear — it’s something we have the power to shape.”

“High-Tech Heroes” will be available in English worldwide starting June 10 through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target and other major retailers.
