Supporters of the Hearthstone Historic House Museum in Appleton are demanding a change in leadership following the arrest of a Board of Directors member for stealing from the facility, according to WHBY.

Former Treasurer Steven Jahnke is accused of embezzling $70,000 from the Hearthstone over the course of three years, using museum funds to cover personal expenses.

A group called Friends of the Hearthstone are calling for the removal of all current Board of Directors members and Executive Director George Schroeder.

The group claims the board did not hold annual meetings, did not produce annual reports, did not create financial reports, and refused to add new members.
