A recent team experience survey by Faith Technologies Incorporated (FTI) found that 77% of the company’s workforce felt engaged or strongly engaged, even with 40% of its team working remotely.
Some of FTI’s best practices include a custom-built app for FTI news and a six-month mentoring program for new hires. The company emphasizes safety and in 2021 launched its Culture of Care in response to a workplace wellness survey that showed 60% of respondents wanted more mental health resources. FTI also offers two PTO hours per month for self care.
FTI’s benefits include an After-Tax Emergency Savings, assistance with education, adoption benefits and an emergency hardship program. The company hosts food truck days, team member golf outings and a holiday giving campaign, which allows team members to give $20,000 to local charities.
In addition to its health care benefits, FTI has a new EAP that offers more personalized care, including medication management and a substance use recovery program.
“It’s critical we recognize the importance of whole person health and wellness and change the conversation around mental health,” says Mike Jansen, CEO. “We want our team members to understand it’s OK to not be OK. The workplace is a key location to offer support for one’s mental health and wellbeing.”
FTI recruits Gen Z workers through job shadow opportunities, STEM/STEAM activities and college recruiting fairs. The company participates in career fairs that target underrepresented groups and provides recruiting resources for non-English speakers; it is also working to establish formal employee resource groups for diverse team members.
“Recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce is essential to fostering innovation, creativity and a strong company culture,” says Rob Messina, executive vice president.
