U.S. donations on GivingTuesday 2025 increased by nearly half-a-million dollars over those in 2024, according to the Associated Press.
Americans gave $4 billion to nonprofits this year, topping last year’s $3.6 billion, estimates from nonprofit GivingTuesday show. Overall, donations increased 8.1% from last year when adjusted for inflation.
Volunteering on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving also increased, with 11.1 million people in the U.S. giving their time compared to 9.2 million in 2024.
The GivingTuesday concept began in 2012 as a hashtag and has since become an independent organization. The day has become a major source of fundraising for nationwide nonprofits.
