GO Transit, the public transportation service in the greater Oshkosh area, will implement fare changes Aug. 1. Regular one-way fares will increase to $2 per one-way trip, and senior and disabled fares will be $1. These fares are consistent with public transportation systems in the area.

On Aug. 5, GO Transit will implement route adjustments on routes 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7, along with strategic alterations to “paired/interlined” routes at the downtown Oshkosh Transit Center to minimize transfers.

GO Transit is also hosting a Ride Free Day Aug. 5, which provides free rides for all passengers for the entire day to introduce the route changes.

Driven by rider, operator and community feedback, these modifications were approved by the city of Oshkosh Transportation Committee and Common Council on April 9.

“Our goal is to simplify and improve travel for everyone,” said Steve Tomasik, transit operations manager at GO Transit. “With these upcoming modifications, passengers can anticipate smoother journeys with fewer disruptions.”
