The Green Bay Metro Fire Department responded to an alarm at Green Bay Converting, 2200 Larsen Road, at 7:45 a.m. and remained on the scene into Tuesday.
A video from the fire department shows extensive damage to the 800,000-square-foot building and the department reports that portions of the building have collapsed due to fire and water damage. There have been no injuries reported by the fire department.Â
Weather conditions adversely impacted both emergency response efforts and firefighting operations. An on-site rehabilitation area was established for firefighters to rest, rotate out, and return to the active fire zone.
The fire was initially determined to be coming from the roof, and the response was upgraded as firefighters battled weather conditions as well as the blaze. Response has included plow drivers and other equipment from multiple municipalities.
Residents nearby were advised to shelter in place Monday due to heavy smoke. Everyone was advised to remain clear of the scene.
