Green Bay nonprofits earn national prize, launch matching fund campaign

A $250,000 matching campaign has been launched after the city of Green Bay was selected as one of nine 2024 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Culture of Health Prize Award Winners.

Green Bay’s application for the prize highlighted the collaboration of Wello, We All Rise: African American Resource Center, COMSA: A Resource Center Serving Immigrants and Refugees, and Casa ALBA Melanie Hispanic Resource Center. The award comes with a $250,000 unrestricted investment recognizing work completed that will be split amongst the four nonprofit organizations.

To amplify the funding, a matching campaign has begun. Donations can be made here.

The award and mathing funds will allow the four nonprofit agencies to address:

  • Housing stabilization and shelter transformation
  • Youth development and mentorship
  • Crisis response for sexual assault, domestic violence, and substance abuse
  • Healthy, local food systems and healthy food access
  • Mental health services
  • Culturally rooted healing, education, and leadership pathways
  • Measuring collective well-being to ensure strategies and actions match community need.
