The city of Green Bay launched the Leicht Memorial Park improvement project which will transform the space with a new pavilion featuring concessions, restrooms, event space, an overlook deck with Fox River views, and enhanced infrastructure.

To ramp up the project, On Broadway, Inc. is launching a $4 million capital campaign for the project which is estimated to cost around $7 million.

“Today marks an exciting milestone for our community as we begin transforming Leicht Memorial Park into an even more vibrant gathering place for residents and visitors,” said Mayor Eric Genrich. “This project will enhance our downtown waterfront while creating new opportunities for the festivals, concerts, and community celebrations that make Green Bay special. The collaboration between the city and On Broadway demonstrates what we can accomplish when we work together toward a shared vision.”

Construction will proceed in phases following the successful completion of site grading, with the new pavilion expected to be completed by fall 2026. The enhanced facility will build upon the park’s established role as host to major community events including the Levitt AMP Green Bay Music Series, various festivals, and the recent Draft City Music Fest during the 2025 NFL Draft.

“On Broadway is committed to partnering with the City and Parks department to provide complimentary programming to amplify the aesthetics of the new space,” said Brian Johnson,  president & CEO of On Broadway, Inc. “We are excited to have the community enjoy outdoor entertainment in the heart of our downtown for years to come.”

The project builds upon recent infrastructure investments, including dock wall renovations that enabled Green Bay to welcome cruise ships to its downtown waterfront.
